The lady in red...of course!

Beer- Cheaper than Thailand and only $1 a can with draft beers at even posh establishments like the FCC  (Foreign Correspondent's Club) only a buck at happy hour.

Note: For those that might be familiar with other "FCCs" around the world such as in old Hong Kong or in Prague, the two FCCs in both Siem Reap and in Phnom Penh are both "open" clubs.  The FCC is located at the corner of Street 178 and Sisowath Quay in Phnom Penh, across from the River Street Bar.

Note: For a great movie on on what these clubs use to be and those that frequented them, find the movie, "The Year of Living Dangerously" with Mel Gibson. Awesome and intense movie about living in Jakarta, Indonesia in earlier times.

Saturday night dancing at the Riverhouse.

Just tooling around town in cyclos in true ex-pat style.  These gentlemen are to well know bar owners on the riverfront.  Rory on the left (an Irishman) and Doug on the right (an American).  Stop in an see them!

Some well known "watering holes" for expats are:

Mikey's
One of the more recently famous bars on the riverfront. If you like a bit of Art Nuevo and a bit of class, some excellent food and reasonable prices while watching the boats of the Tonle Sap pass by, this could be the place.  They also have 14 very nice rooms priced from $15 a night for the ones in the back and $30 a night for the ones with a view of the Tonle Sap and Mekong.  Rori and Doug have now become partners in the venture and seem to be having one hell of a lot of fun!

Located around the corner from the Riverside, great place to relax in the company of some very nice ladies.  Barry and his wife make a cute couple and if you like talking "IT", this is the most definitely the place to hang and tell lies. (Do you think the logo was taken from the movie ''Charlies' Angels?'

The Riverside - One of the more famous bars in Phnom Penh.  In March 2004 a Philippino band is playing nightly that is pretty good.

Charlie and his guys playing at the Riverside.

Frog and Parrot - Located on the riverfront .  Good English food. Recently opened in February 2004.

Walkabout Hotel at the corner of Streets 51 and 174.  They also have a web site at www.walkabouthotel.com . If you continue on down Street 51, you will come up to a monster complex that has literally taken most of the streets around it, The U.S. Embassy! (Streets 51 and 242.)

Shranghai - A nice watering hole a block down Street 51 from the Walkabout Hotel. (Corner of Streets 51 and 172) Large and spacious with a pool table and many beautiful ladies.  Don't miss the monthly barbeque. Tons of food with a couple of hours of free beer.  Not as much hustle as places like Sharky but still has some beautiful ladies.

The Rose Bar.  Ms. Rose is such a lovely lady and has a new, adopted one year old baby girl (January 2004).  Her and her lovely ladies can be found on Street 104, just down from the main Phnom Penh Post Office. (Ms. Rose is the beautiful lady on the left.)

Kim's Kiwi Bar has been renamed to K Bar as the ownership has changed as of January 2004 and it is now owned by an Australian. This place can be found at #180 on Street 130 which is about 50 meters from the Central Market. (June 2004: Seems it has once again changed hands....no idea what the new name will be....)

The Riverhouse An incredible place that really rocks on Friday and Saturday nights.  Great dancing, beautiful people and one hell of a lot of fun.  Couldn't ask for nicer management either.

A group having some serious fun on a Saturday night at the dance club in the upstairs of the Riverhouse.

Expat Star - Another new bar opened with a bit of class. Opened on Saturday the 6th of March.  Located opposite Wat Phnom.  Some extremely beautiful ladies are there to greet you with their beautiful smiles.  Nice wine list as well.
